Geek Mixtape

In case you haven't noticed, the show has been on hiatus for a while now, and will continue to be as such until further notice.  The reasonings are vast and varied, mainly boiling down to an extreme lack of free time in recent weeks.  I *do* plan on continuing something relating to podcasting music online in the future, but as for now, the fate of Geek Mixtape is unknown.  If you enjoy the show and wish to see it come back, please tell me so.  Nothing is set in stone, and a bit of encouragement goes a long way.

I'm back on the air after several weeks of absence... this time for good reasons, as opposed to just being sick. This week features new music from Disasterpeace, a wonderful chiptune artist whom you can learn more about if you mosey on over to www.dprocks.com . I was also very excited this week to play the new NIN album for the first time on air. As I mentioned on the show, you can download the first of their new 4-volume set on their official website. Geek Mixtape will not be airing for the next two (2) weeks because I am off on a series of adventures...  This coming week, I'll be going into  Buffalo to see ARMCANNON and POWERGLOVE:  Two video game cover bands that liberally rock copious amounts of face.  The following week I'll be attending the I.B.S. My sickness last week began and ended in a timeframe seemingly designed to prevent me from doing the show. Fortunately, I have persevered over the dreaded Consumption and I'm back for another show this week: Starting off with a track from the chip-tastic Depreciation Guild (whose album you can download FREE at their WEBSITE) and featuring new music from Hot Chip! I was able to keep this show running relatively smoothly despite a hail of technical problems, including but not limited to: Non-functioning DJ software, slow file transfers over the Station network, and a false alarm for a missing laptop power adapter. That's one hell of a confidence booster, if nothing else. This week features a whole mess of VG music and the return of the science & tech news update. Sweet deal! As a brief addendum, my buddy and I have started recording a Video Games Podcast via Skype which should begin airing in a week or so. I don't expect this small side-project to be as consistent as Geek Mixtape but regardless, it's still another thing to look forward to. Peace out for now.
